Happy Earth Month !

“The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.”

-Lady Bird Johnson

At Smart Pack USA, sustainability is always our goal.

We pride ourselves on our Eco-Friendly product line of bamboo, wood, palm leaf, and sugarcane products.

Our bamboo products are a great alternative to plastic.

Not only is bamboo the fastest growing plant in the world; it is sourced from farms that specifically grow bamboo for commercial use.

Plastic can take over 450 years to break down in a landfill.

When you purchase bamboo, you can feel safe knowing that in as little as 2 months it will start decomposing.

Wood is a naturally renewable resource making it perfect for those with sustainability in mind.

There is actually more wood grown within the U.S.A. than harvested every year. With wood there is virtually no waste - trims, sawdust, even the bark is used!

Wood has the ability to last a lifetime with proper care.

When composted, wood can decompose in as little as 3 months.

Palm Leaf products are a great sustainable option.

Palm leaf plates are made of palm leaves that have naturally been shed. No tree is cut down in this process making it one of the most sustainable materials for disposable products.

This actually makes this even more sustainable than bamboo as most bamboo is usually grown for the sole purpose of being cut down for commercial products.

Palm leaf plates only take 6 to 8 weeks to decompose. These plates can degrade right n the trash versus other materials that require composting.

Sugarcane Bagasse is a biodegradable, compostable, environmentally sustainable option for takeout containers.

These products are made of fibrous matter or pulp, that is left over after extracting juice from sugarcane.

Before being used sustainably, Bagasse was treated as waste and would even be burned in fields.

Today, this material can be molded into almost any shape making it ideal for foodservice packaging.

The process to manufacture bagasse requires less energy making it more energy-efficient than plastic products.
